The "Akamas Villas Car Hire Scheme" is in association with Petrides Rentals - an established car rental company based locally in Polis. A wide selection of vehicles is available to guests at competitive prices and, importantly, our association with a firm that is local to all of our properties provides reassurance and convenience in the event of any problems.

Based on many years experience of travelling to Cyprus and with the benefit of ample guest feedback too, the importance of providing a hassle-free and speedy transfer from Paphos Airport to the holiday villa is extremely important. From the UK, Cyprus is a relatively long flight compared to other European destinations and arriving after several hours of travel in a new country, only to be faced with car hire queues and the prospect of driving a new car in a strange country (albeit on the left hand side!) can understandably be a challenging prospect to a lot of people.

So, our decision to incorporate complementary airport transfers (Paphos International Airport only) and a car delivered direct to the holiday accommodation on the day and time requested by the guest has proved immensely popular. It allows for a more relaxing flight (with a drink if preferred) and augers well for a relaxed start to a perfect holiday on this beautiful Mediterranean island. It also means that the car hire is needed for a day or two less as well.

How to Book a Car?

Should guests wish to take advantage of the Akamas Villas Car Hire Scheme, the vehicle and booking dates need to be completed as part of the accommodation booking, on the villa booking page. The payment will be made locally upon delivery of the vehicle and can be paid by cash in Euros or by credit card (Visa or MasterCard).

Important Terms & Conditions

• Rates include maintenance, oil greasing, change of vehicle in case of mechanical breakdown and unlimited mileage.
• VAT at a current rate of 15% needs to be added to the basic prices quoted.
• The minimum driver’s age is 25 years.
• All current foreign driving licences are valid in Cyprus and all relevant driving licence paperwork will need to be produced upon delivery of the vehicle.
• The Rentor pays for all petrol consumed during the rental period. No refund is made for unused petrol. Unleaded 95-type petrol only to be used unless advised otherwise.
• The minimum rental period is 3 days.
• All traffic fines are the guest’s responsibility.
• Accidents or theft must be reported to the Petrides office in Polis and to the nearest police station immediately and, in the event of an accident, the car must not be moved until the police have arrived at the scene.
• Insurance is charged in addition from €5 to €7 per day, depending on the size of the car and the Excess for all cars is €500. Optional insurance is available for tyres and windscreen cover.
• Insurance cover and help are NOT provided in the occupied part of Cyprus.
• The charge for each extra driver is €2 per day
